The other day I took Mallory to get a pedicure. She had been looking forward to it for like a week. As we walked into the door of the salon she immediately changed her mind. I don't know if she was thinking it was going to be something different or what but she was clinging to my side. I sat down in the chair and she sat on my lap. Isn't a pedicure suppose to be a little pampering, I asked myself? The way she was sitting it was pretty uncomfortable I have to admit. I kept asking her if she wanted to sit in a chair right next to me but she had no interest. So she sat on me, finally I managed to get her to sit next to me. I kept asking her if she wanted to get her nails painted and she kept saying no. When the paint went onto my nails she got very interested and changed her mind and wanted to get her nails painted too. As the guy was almost finished painting my nails she put her arm around the front on me and said Mom I Love You and got a huge smile on her face. I felt like million bucks because she said it just loud enough that a couple of other people heard her. It was so cute. Times like this I now know why I am a mother.
